You can add a variable that lets you preview the view or filter results as another user or using a different date. You cannot perform this procedure for a related view. To add a preview variable, perform the following steps.
- In View Designer, in the Preview pane, click the Preview Variable button.

In the Preview Variables dialog
box, do one or both of the following options:
- To substitute a different date for the current date, under Date and Time, click the second button and then enter the date you want.
- To substitute a different user name for your own user name, under User, click the second button and then enter the user name you want.
- Click OK.
