You can hide a public filter from the Views pane for an item by making it inactive. To hide a public filter, perform the following steps.

1. In View Designer, on the Filters tab, expand Public Filters.
2. Select the filter and then click Properties.
3. In the Modify Filter dialog box, clear the Is active check box.
