Create
When manually creating an index, once you have defined a location, file types
and indexing rules, you need to create your initial index files before you can
search them.
To create an index:
- Start Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console
- Open the index you wish to modify, you can do this by either:
- Selecting it from the My Index Catalog list
- Select File > Open an Index from the menu and browse to the location
where the index is stored
- From the menu, select Index > Create
- Check the "Perform an initial index UPDATE run" to have Perceptive Search do the
initial indexing run.
- You can log the output of a create by clicking the Log button.
- Click OK to begin.
