Create

When manually creating an index, once you have defined a location, file types and indexing rules, you need to create your initial index files before you can search them.

To create an index:

  1. Start Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console
  2. Open the index you wish to modify, you can do this by either:
    • Selecting it from the My Index Catalog list
    • Select File > Open an Index from the menu and browse to the location where the index is stored
  3. From the menu, select Index > Create
  4. Check the "Perform an initial index UPDATE run" to have Perceptive Search do the initial indexing run.
  5. You can log the output of a create by clicking the Log button.
  6. Click OK to begin.
