Adding a node to the Concept Taxonomy
To access the Concept Taxonomy editor:
- Open the index you wish to modify, you can do this by either:
- Selecting it from the My Index Catalog list
- Select File > Open an Index from the menu and browse to the location
where the index is stored
- From the menu, select Index > Concept Taxonomy, the
concept taxonomy editor will be shown.
- Find the location where you wish to add the new node and click the Add
button.
- You will be prompted to enter the following values:
- Name
Fill in a logical name for the concept. This line appears in the graphical
representation of the Concept Taxonomy.
- Description
The contents of this field are displayed to the user when an entry is
highlighted on the Concept Taxonomy. This description is used to explain in
detail the purpose or topic of the Concept Taxonomy entry. - Query
You can set a query to be automatically performed when the user selects this
particular concept. You do not have to type an entry in this field, as this may be a
top level heading, use a file filter only, etc. - Include all lower levels in query
If the concept has any sub-concepts, they will be included in any query. If any
of the sub-concepts have queries attached to them, these queries will combine to
make up the selected concept's query. - Filter By
Concept Taxonomy query results can be filtered to include or exclude
specific document or file paths (i.e. directories and folders). Perceptive Search will still
search the entire contents of your index, but will only display the matching
files found in the folders you specify, or matching the file types or endings
that you need.
When a concept query is executed, Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console will ignore any existing query filters
that users have set up in Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console. To apply filters to a Concept
Taxonomy, add details whilst creating or edit a concept to the taxonomy.
