The quick access panel located on the left hand side of the screen gives you quick access to several different components of the software, and can be customized to suit your needs.
The quick access panel has the following:
Perform searches quickly and easily, see "I'm looking for" for details.
The My Index Catalog panel shows you all the indexes that you currently have available in either your personal or shared catalog. You can select which index you wish to search by simply clicking on the name, it will change to bold and have a check next to it when selected.
Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console allows you to select multiple indexes and search across them all at once. To select multiple entries in the My Index Catalog, select the first index you wish to search, then hold down the Ctrl key and continue to click on the other indexes you are interested in searching. If you wish to add or remove an index from the current selection, hold the Ctrl key again and click its name.
Only the indexes indicated in bold will be searched.
Query Results
The query results section shows you statistics about the current search, including the index used and the number of hits and documents. You can also give access to the filter and sorting dialogs from the Manage Results section.
My Current View
Allows you to control the information that is shown for each search, including the refinement tree, the preview pane and the date bar. Or toggle between Context and Reviews view.
My Recent Queries
Contains a list of recently executed queries, simply double click on the query to re-execute it.
Intelligent Agent
Contains a list of created intelligent agents, see Intelligent Agents for more information. You can re-execute the agent by double clicking its name.
You can customize the quick access panel to include or exclude any of the above
panels. To edit the view, click the
button
at the bottom of the panel. You will be presented with a list of panels where you
can enable/disable each or reorder them.
